Sony Bravia KDL40W5500U 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TVA BRAVIA LCD TV is no ordinary television. Design is sleeker, pictures are brighter, details clearer. All BRAVIA televisions are HD Ready as a minimum, with up to 4 HDMI connections, and come with an integrated digital tuner so there is no need for a set-top box to view Freeview TV and radio channels. Most of the BRAVIA LCD TVs feature BRAVIA Sync technology, it takes just one button to turn on your entire Sony home entertainment system, while XrossMediaBar helps you navigate your TV easily with its best-in-class menu screen. After all advanced technology should simply mean technology that does more for you...... Read more

Toshiba Regza 42AV635DB 42-inch Widescreen HD ready 1080p LCD TVToshiba LCD TV4
Have had this TV for about 3 weeks now and on the whole am very pleased with it. The picture quality is really goood, it accepts inputs from DVD recorder, laptop via DVI cable, VHS player, media player, all very readily.I have no HD at present but am impressed with the SD quality. The on-line manual is OK but could be a little bit more detailed. We generally view this TV from about 12′ away but it is still very clear and not pixelated at about 5′(and that’s SD format). The remote is fairly basic which is wonderful – unless you want to spend ages looking through a manual to find out how to change settings.
The only disappointment is the sound quality. If you intend to use some surround sound system or use the phono socket to connect to external speakers this isn’t an issue, but don’t rely on the built in speakers to give good audio output.
I am pleased with this purchase and about £100 cheaper from Amazon than high street retailers. Incidentally, the picture quality was unimpressive at one retailer and significantly better (outstanding)at another…..Great Deals Toshiba Regza 42AV635DB 42-inch Widescreen HD ready 1080p LCD TV..... Samsung LE32B450C4 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TVExcellent All Rounder5
I purchased this TV from Amazon, and as usual it arrived when it was supposed to and the price was a lot better than on the high street.
Set up was quick and easy, just a few screws for the stand then turn it on and answer a couple of questions and it sets itself up in a less than 5 minutes.
I bought the TV for my parents to put in the living room and it is brilliant, they didnt want anything larger than 32″ so there wasnt really any point in getting a 1080p set. The picture quality is excellent on freeview and even better with Sky and to be honest just as good as my larger 1080p Sony Bravia. There are a few presets and many individual settings you can adjust to get the picture how you like it. Sound quality is very good too considering the size of the speakers, especially if you have a play with a few of the options.
The remote is uncluttered and easy to use and the on screen freeview guide is pretty good too.
One thing that may be a problem for some users is that this TV only has one scart socket, but it does have 3 HMDMI sockets so shouldnt be too much of a problem.

Garmin Nuvi 255WCar navigation5
In my eighties now, I have difficulty reading small print on a map. I live in Central Europe and still drive extensively, with my wife.
I bought the Garmin Nuvi 255WT after looking at everything on the market. The Garmin had the brightest, clearest screen. The maps are easy to read and the voiced instructions clear and precise. A wide choice of languages. Programming a destination is child’s play, and can be done before leaving the house.
I do not read the maps while driving. I listen to the voice and my wife monitors the LCD display. On a recent trip into a big city I was apprehensive about finding our hotel among the many one-way streets. The Garmin delivered us to the main entrance of the hotel with no problem. As with many modern inventions, I wonder how I ever managed without a machine like the Garmin during my 65 year motoring history.
No bag is supplied, but I bought a close fitting one from HAMA.
We felt the windscreen glass was too far away, and so I mounted the supplied hard plastc disc on to a flat part of the dashboard. The suction foot of the cradle is mounted on that disc. The cradle can be dismounted in one move, for storage elsewhere. When parking I unclip the Garmin from its cradle and carry it in the top pocket of my jacket.
I also leave the glove box open to show that the Garmin is not stored in there. The box contains nothing but paper items and a small tin of boiled sweets !
The machine and its cradle are manufactured to a high standard. Using a USB2 cable plugged into a PC or laptop one can access Garmin’s website
for information and help.

LG 32LH3000 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready 1080p LCD TVIt was finally time for us to go fully digital and retire our analogue TV. We’re very pleased by the 32LH3000. It seems to be an excellent product at a very reasonable price. We’ve been using it for standard definition digital TV, DVDs, and Xbox gaming. Everything on it has worked just as it should have, right from the start...... Read more
